How does MCT and Event Monitor billing work when using the Rhythm Express RX-1?2019-03-19T14:01:23-04:00

The RX-1 monitor can be used as a Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCT) device (CPT code 93228 and CPT code 93229) and a cellular/wireless Event Monitor (Global CPT code 93268). The RX-1 can be remotely programmed to change modes depending on the required use and patient insurance acceptance.

The system does not provide real time monitoring.  Depending upon device settings, there is a delay of 1 minute or more before an event arrives at the monitoring center.

Does the RX-1 automatically recognize specific arrhythmias?2019-04-23T21:09:46-04:00

Yes.  The RX-1 will automatically recognize and record atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter, PVC’s, bradycardia, tachycardia and pause events. A wide variety of arrhythmia parameter and communication interval programming options are available to users.

No. The RX-1 is a self-contained 1-piece system that does not require a peripheral cell phone, gateway, supporting communication device or other ancillary equipment.  The RX-1 connects to standard adhesive skin electrodes chosen by the prescribing physician.
