GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR RX-1 mini
1. Preparing for Your Monitoring
Skin Preparation
- Shave any hair in the electrode areas
- Clean the skin with a Smith & Nephew Skin-Prep or similar pad
- Avoid applying lotions, creams, or powders before attaching electrodes
Device Setup
- Connect the adhesive electrodes to the lead snaps
- Remove the protective backing from the electrodes
- Place the electrodes on your skin as directed by your healthcare provider
2. Starting Your Monitoring Session
Press and hold the red button for 5 seconds until you feel it buzz
Confirming Recording: Briefly press the red button; the Heart icon will blink green in groups of three
3. Recording Symptoms
When you experience symptoms:
- Hold the Red button for 3 seconds until you feel it buzz
- The device will record for the next 3 minutes
4. Maintaining Your Device
Changing Electrodes:
- Gently remove old electrodes using a warm, wet washcloth if needed
- Place new electrodes slightly offset from previous positions to minimize skin irritation
- Never reuse electrodes
Charging Your Device:
- Charge when convenient or when the battery icon blinks amber
- Remove the device from your chest during charging
- Clean the connector with a cotton swab before charging
- Allow the device to cool after charging before reapplying
5. Completing Your Monitoring Period
When your prescribed monitoring period ends:
- Disconnect the leads and remove electrodes
- Return the RX-1 mini as instructed

How does the device work?
The RX-1 mini is an advanced cardiac monitoring solution that constantly checks for any abnormal heart rhythms. It securely transmits data to our monitoring center using a built-in cellular communications chip. Depending on your doctor’s configuration, our team of expert U.S.-based clinicians in Dallas, Texas, reviews the information 24/7/365 and provides a detailed report to your doctor. Your role is simply to wear the monitor and go about your daily activities!

What comes with my Rhythm Express?
Your Rhythm Express kit includes:
- RX-1 mini device: Our state-of-the-art monitor that collects and transmits your heart rhythm data
- Charger: Used to charge the battery throughout your monitoring period, like other rechargeable devices you may have at home.
- ECG electrodes: High-quality sensors that detect your heart’s electrical signals and connect to the RX-1 mini leads
Do I need to wear my device at all times?
For the most comprehensive monitoring, we recommend wearing the RX-1 mini continuously, including while you sleep. The device is designed for comfort and convenience, allowing you to wear it during most daily activities, even in the shower, thanks to its water-resistant design.
Can I travel wearing my device?
Absolutely! The RX-1 mini is designed to accompany you wherever you go. Its compact size and built-in cellular technology mean you can travel freely without interrupting your monitoring. Just remember to bring your charger for longer trips. If you are traveling outside of the United States, your device will continue to collect data, but your physician won’t get data about your heart rhythm until you return. Also, bring your charger on these trips, and remember to bring an appropriate power adaptor for the country to which you are traveling.
*Please note, If your physician has prescribed a Holter monitor, the data collected is not reviewed and reported upon until the test is complete.
Do I need wireless internet access or a cellular data plan?
No additional internet or cellular plan is required. The RX-1 mini comes equipped with its own cellular chip, ensuring secure data transmission regardless of your location or personal cellular plan.
How often do I need to recharge my device?
The RX-1 mini can last up to 5 days on a single charge. We recommend charging your device at least every 3 days to ensure uninterrupted monitoring. The battery indicator will blink amber when it’s time to charge. This can typically be done while you’re stationary, such as when watching TV or reading.
Caution: Never charge the device while wearing.
How long does it take to charge a battery?
What happens if the device feels warm to the touch?
It’s normal for the device to warm slightly during charging. If it feels uncomfortably warm when charging is complete, allow it to cool before reapplying. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to contact our 24/7/365 support line.
What do I do with my monitor when I am done?
Once your prescribed monitoring period is complete, please return the RX-1 mini promptly using the provided shipping label. This ensures that your doctor receives your full monitoring report as quickly as possible, allowing for timely analysis and any necessary adjustments to your care plan.
