Marina is founder and Chief Technology Officer of VivaQuant. She is a high-energy, collaborative, and hands-on leader with a unique combination of education and experience in artificial intelligence, signal processing, embedded systems, cloud computing, cardiovascular physiology, statistics, intellectual property strategy, and digital health IT and medical device development and commercialization. She is an invited speaker and expert in the development of algorithms for ultra-low-power implementation of embedded systems. Prior to founding VivaQuant, Marina spent several years in Guidant’s cardiac rhythm management and neurostimulation divisions (currently Boston Scientific). She has about 80 issued and 10 pending patents in the fields of signal processing and systems for monitoring ambulatory subjects and for the management of patients with chronic cardiovascular disease. She has co-authored seven peer-reviewed scientific publications in engineering, signal processing, and medicine. Marina holds a PhD in applied mathematics, a Master’s degree in physiology, and an MBA.
Brian founded Data Sciences Intl. (DSI), the leading provider of wireless implantable sensors and systems for preclinical testing of new drugs and biomedical research. He bootstrapped DSI with highly competitive SBIR grants from the National Institutes of Health into a highly profitable business with > $40 mm in revenue. He developed a domestic and international direct sales and distribution network serving 40 countries on five continents. DSI was named to the Inc. 500 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies for three consecutive years, was named SBA Exporter of the Year, and won the Tibbetts Award for commercialization of technology developed with SBIR grants. DSI also received several awards and recognition for technology innovation and creative financing strategies during Brian’s tenure.
Brian co-founded Transoma Medical in 2003 to develop insertable cardiac monitoring devices for patients with chronic cardiovascular disease. Transoma was sold to Wilson Greatbatch in 2009.
Brian has about 51 patents issued and pending in medical devices, sensors, and diagnostics and is a co-author of more than 25 scientific publications (792 citations, 5,315 reads, 415 total research interest on Research Gate).
Chris is the Chief Commercialization Officer of Rhythm Express. He is a proven leader in the cardiac monitoring field, with 30 years of experience in several successful startups. Chris was a co-founder and President of Mednet Healthcare Technologies, a remote cardiac monitoring company that created the first IDTF that made proprietary devices and software. The Company grew to $20M in revenue under his leadership. At Medicomp, a United Therapeutics company, Chris held the position of Director of Business Development, where he positioned Medicomp as an industry leader. Chris also held executive positions with Medicalgorithmics and InfoBionic, where he played a key role in marketing and sales. Chris has developed an extensive network of relationships in the remote cardiac monitoring field with Industry Leaders and Healthcare Providers during his tenure in the field. His experience and passion for remote patient monitoring are evident in his pursuit of establishing Rhythm Express as a leader and creating a new Gold Standard in patient care.
